Hi guys
This is probably going to be the single most comprehensive posting in this blog: a continually updated, rundown list of Mumbai’s under construction, planned and proposed skyscrapers above 25 stories. Whenever updates will be posted, I’ll have a post announcing it, but this is the thread that will be updated, so keep it bookmarked!
Just a disclaimer, these buildings are all collected from open source (internet and newspaper) information by those of us at the bustling Skyscrapercity.com India forum. All project names, heights and locations are estimations or based on collected information and hence may not be entirely accurate. We are are just fans of architecture and skyscrapers and we sure as heck aren’t industry insiders, so if you have any information to help us keep this list current and accurate, please feel free to contribute

Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India is experiencing a huge building boom. Over the last two years, literally thousands of new mid and highrise construction has taken place, with towers getting taller and taller.
Last year, Mumbai’s tallest was 40-odd stories. This year, its to be 85 with current FSI at around 4. In the next two years, CBD development in Mumbai’s former mill lands and Dharavi will see a huge number of skyscraper developments that, due to FSI increasing to 8, will very possibly see supertall construction.
So, without further ado, Mumbai’s major highrise buildings u/c, compiled from the threads at the SSC India forum, read on!…

Cheers,

that’s a great collection!
Hello can you get a picture of the Mumbai skyline and post it in Wikipedia.
Question…
When are these projects going to get implemented and when will they end?
Hi Guys,
I am impressed. You have done a wonderful job gathering these details and posting them at places where we can see and admire. I used to live in Bombay but have been away from India for thirty years and have not spent time in Bombay except as in transit passenger.
Pl keep updating this. I am looking forward to India awakening and showing off to the world what we can do if we are united and determined.
this collection is really cool…and feels good to see that India is developing…i am pleased with this website…but i want to know when construction imperial heights in andheri will get completed? thank you
Great…!! My Mother Nation is on the Rise !
[...] I’ve finally got around to updating the Indian Skyscraper Blog’s Mumbai skyscraper rendering rundown list!: (The Bombay *BOOM*! — A Rendering Rundown of all Significant Skyscrapers under construction, pr…) [...]
Great stuff. How many of these are under construction, vs. approved for construction but as yet unstarted, vs. proposals? Impressive building boom up there with some of the world’s major cities.
Ahh beauitful to see my India and Mumbai is on the fast track on becoming a global leader…just a beauitful sight!
wow awsome when will we began to see these towerss rise or completed? when will parky hyatt tower be completed?
Absolutely stratling to say the least..Keep up the good work..Cheers !!!!!!
Some projects are at their completion stage, some are not yet started. WE need more details which we can find out if the promoters’ name as available.
By the way, there is exclusively lots of informations available here……..
Thank you.
Dear Sir, I am a Civil Engineer and I used to dream when India will have construction Projects of this magnitude and beauty. I think that subah is coming to India. It is like dream of main chracter of novel fountain head.
khursheed
exellent site but where are the names of builders and proper lsite address.
[...] that era of thinking in Mumbai is coming to a close, with even taller towers having since been approved in virtually the same area as Oberoi Skyz. So [...]
impressive array of buildings but I think the local architects and developers can do a lot more to raise the quality of design in the city. These buildings appear far too busy and contrived. The rest of the world is moving towards a more refined look. We need not take all our clues from Dubai. Its imperative to get this right because these buildings will be around for a very long time.
hey guys , a wonderful collection of mumbais towers
i make models of buildings and this post is a boon for people like us……..
keep the good work andf pls post more pics

I agree with ‘mansoor’ … specially in India, we can afford to go classy & elegant, Hafeez Contractor is ingenius, original and authentic. His work for Hiranadani’s and DLF in Gurgaon is , even with … hehe … my bias … the most appropriate. Fitting. So … a class act.
I … so sorry … we may all be pumped up re: renders herein … so sorry … too many … ‘kooky’ designs … like Dubai & Shanghai … style is all over the place … Much prefer … check-out Singapore … Hong-Kong … Toronto …
I feel India should go along those lines with a twist … Indo-Saracenic twist … Contractor’s got it bang on.
Otherwise, check new bldg.’s in Calcutta … functional, straidgt lines .. and pleasently BRIGHT! English functionality with Indian brightness … really non-Bangla/Bunglow type, non Bombay Indo-Saracenic … Non Punjabi-Baroque thanks so much … but nice, really nice …
Dubai ‘architectural’ style … for me … is totally fraudulent … no element of ‘nativity’ … nonsensical … Tel-Aviv … much more … nouveau New York …
Instead of worrying about biggest, fattest, tallest …. India … and Bombay … should focus on … ‘noveau-original’ … hehe … Industanee’ … Indo-Saracenic … it would suffice;)
