Haven't you guys heard of climate change? You'll all be laughing rich to a very early grave. These energy extravagant projects are the last thing that mankind needs if it is to survive. And developing nations should not follow the same mistaken paths that the rich, including the room-temperature-IQ'd fools in Dubai, have followed.

it is one thing designing these magnificent projects and another thing executing them. my experience is that the structures are constructed in an unsafe manner and the concrete is so inaccurate that installation of the cladding is compromised.

much of this is to do with there frequently being no main or general contractor in charge, as in most other countries which have a developed infrastructure. this means that responsibility is diluted or divested.

it is all very well having fine looking buildings with exciting facades, but the quality of the structural frame needs to be improved; curtain walls can accommodate only small deviations from design dimensions. exceeding them puts the installation at risk and compromises the integrity.
safety of construction in progress also needs to be improved. i visited india bulls development on several occasions during the installation of facade cladding and i became so scared that i refused to go on site to do inspections.
i trust that the intention will be to manage the complete process of construction, not fragment it into separate responsibilities, so that all the activities in the process can be properly coordinated.

I agree with 'mansoor' ... specially in India, we can afford to go classy & elegant, Hafeez Contractor is ingenius, original and authentic. His work for Hiranadani's and DLF in Gurgaon is , even with ... hehe ... my bias ... the most appropriate. Fitting. So ... a class act.

I ... so sorry ... we may all be pumped up re: renders herein ... so sorry ... too many ... 'kooky' designs ... like Dubai & Shanghai ... style is all over the place ... Much prefer ... check-out Singapore ... Hong-Kong ... Toronto ...

I feel India should go along those lines with a twist ... Indo-Saracenic twist ... Contractor's got it bang on.

Otherwise, check new bldg.'s in Calcutta ... functional, straidgt lines .. and pleasently BRIGHT! English functionality with Indian brightness ... really non-Bangla/Bunglow type, non Bombay Indo-Saracenic ... Non Punjabi-Baroque thanks so much ... but nice, really nice ...

Dubai 'architectural' style ... for me ... is totally fraudulent ... no element of 'nativity' ... nonsensical ... Tel-Aviv ... much more ... nouveau New York ...

Instead of worrying about biggest, fattest, tallest .... India ... and Bombay ... should focus on ... 'noveau-original' ... hehe ... Industanee' ... Indo-Saracenic ... it would suffice;)
